JOB Classification: Exempt Supervisor: After School Project Director Salary: $60,000
Job Purpose: To manage the efforts of a cluster of after school programs in Oakland. The 8 –10 school-based enrichment and academic assistance programs integrate a wide-range of activities including homework assistance, academic support, and enrichment such as arts, music, sports and performing arts.
Specific Responsibilities:
· Supervise and support After School Program Coordinators through guidance, training and development of team support. · Build and maintain solid, effective partnerships with all stakeholder groups, including funders, school administrators and personnel, and other community-based organizations. Nurture collaborative relationships amongst the partners and partner agencies. · Lead annual program planning and budget creation at each site. · Monitor fiscal activities including budget and subcontracts. · Ensure successful completion of subcontracts with service providers. · Ensure compliance with all program and reporting requirements, including effective implementation of evaluation and program assessment activities. · Ensure timely and accurate submission of monthly and quarterly reports.
Skills & Knowledge:
· Knowledge of After School programming and Youth Development theory and practices. · Excellent organizational and program management skills. · Clear and effective oral and written communication skills. · Ability to develop strong working relationships with diverse individuals and organizations · Ability to handle multiple priorities.
Personal Qualities: A commitment to and strong belief in the mission of the agency; ability to maintain goals and priorities in dealing with varying challenges; ability to be flexible in working with people and organizations with different viewpoints. This position requires excellent communication and organizational skills.
