Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is when you become very stress out from a traumatic event. This is an anxiety disorder. Some experiences include actual or threatened death, or serious physical injury. When you have PTSD you can have nightmares, flashbacks, emotional detachment, insomnia, or irritability. Some other experiences that might cause PTSD are rape, war, sexual abuse in childhood, natural catastrophes, and childbirths. If you have PTSD you should get therapy like psychotherapy, group therapy, exposure therapy, drug therapy, or talk therapy. You can also get counseling.
