Schizophrenia is a severe and disabling brain disease. About 1% of the population gets the disease in their life. Signs of the disease show earlier in men than in women.


When you have the disease, you have hallucinations, illusions, delusions, makes it harder to think straight. Schizophrenia also affects your behavior and emotions. The first signs of schizophrenia are hearing or seeing something that isn’t there, a constant feeling of being watched, speaking or writing differently, you have a weird posture, bad academic and work performance, a change in personality, don’t want to be around others, being angry or fearful to loved ones, insomnia, or very erratic behavior. People treat schizophrenia through medication, antipsychotic medication, psychosocial treatment, rehabilitation, psychotherapy, cognitive behavior psychotherapy, or self helped groups.
