Sleepover at Ikea

Many people who stroll through Ikea notice how well everything is laid out and wish they had a place like that. Imagine going to Ikea and having the opportunity to spend the night at the location and see how well those mattresses feel. This is what happened at an Ikea in Denmark after a snowstorm hit the area.

At this Ikea location, about 12 inches of snow fell, which caused many roads to close down. This resulted in many customers at Ikea and dozens of Ikea employees with nothing to do but spend the night at Ikea. But it wasn’t all misfortunes at the Ikea location. In fact, it was a pleasant time.

The Ikea store had plenty of Swedish meatballs and water for everyone. And, of course, people slept on the beds of their choosing. “We slept in the furniture exhibitions and our showroom on the first floor, where we have beds, mattresses and sofa beds,” said store manager Peter Elmose. The people picked the “bed they always have wanted to try.” Elmose also mentioned that everyone was having a fun time there, watching television and eating snacks.

In addition, other stores also spent the night at the exact Ikea location. There was a toy workshop next to the Ikea that also had its employees spend the night at the same Ikea.

“It’s much better than sleeping in one’s car. It has been nice and warm and we are just happy that they would let us in,” said one of the toy shop staff. “We just laughed at the situation, because we will probably not experience it again.”
