FLEET WEEK

This upcoming week, SF celebrates fleet week. It is also well know by “Get yourself a sailor boyfriend day.” Once again, San Francisco opens its’ door to the magnificent Blue Angels, alongside thousands of other military demonstrations and airshows.

For those who doesn’t know, Fleet Week is tradition for the US Navy, The United State Coast Guard and The United State Marine to bring their active military ships that were destroyed during overseas combat to major cities such as San Francisco, San Diego, New York and many other cities. Marines will dock their ships in those cities for a week, and for certain hours they will let the public have a guided tour on the ship. For many years, San Francisco had have the pleasure to receive the US Navy and have their ships docked. It have been a tradition for San Francisco to celebrate fleet week every Columbus Day Weekend.

This year’s event is estimated to attract over one million people. There will be thousands of people watching the airshow in the San Francisco Bay Area, all the way from the Ferry Building to the Golden Gate Park. But my personal favorite place to watch the Blue Angels is by the Fort Mason, or by the Fisherman Wharf. I’ll guarantee that you will see everything from their. Plus they have a little food fest too - the food is a bit pricey but is pretty good.

Mark your calendars, the following is this weekends fleet week schedule:
