Pokemon Go is a 2016 augmented reality free-to-play mobile game developed and published by Niantic in collaboration with The Pokemon Company for iOS and Android devices. If you are a fan of the anime series Pokemon, then I assure you, you are going to love this. Basically, you catch Pokemon and battle gym members/other people with the Pokemon that you have acquired. You can catch Pokemon by moving around (walking outside/driving), then if a Pokemon pops up on your screen, you try to catch it. The good thing about this is that it gives you a reason to go out and just walk around your neighborhood.
Candy Crush Saga is a free-to-play video game released by King on April 12, 2012, for Facebook, other versions for iOS and Android. This can get you going for a long time. So when you play this game, you just swipe and match 3 same candies. The more candies you match horizontally or vertically, a different type of candy shows up with a power-up. There are different levels, and the more you progress to a higher level, the more it gets challenging.
Released in the U.S. in October 2019. This is a free-to-play first-person shooter game developed by TiMi Studios and published by Activision for Android and iOS, with different game modes, so you have more choices on which mode you want to play, including fast-paced multiplayer, zombies, and battle royale. The gist of the game is to kill the enemy and stay alive.
This is one of my favorite games. After conquering the PC with Minecraft, Swedish indie developer Mojang compacted the game's creative and addictive gameplay into Minecraft—Pocket Edition for Android and iOS ($6.99). In this game, players are dropped in a world made of different kinds of cubes. Players "mine" these cubes, which can, in turn, be used to "craft" buildings and items. Pocket Edition comes with two modes: creative and survival. Creatively, players can fly around the game world and build using an infinite supply of materials. The core gameplay is in survival mode, where daytime is for building above ground (stacking blocks to make castles, bridges, etc.), and night brings monsters who attack players and destroy their creations. There's no story, and the only advantage you have in a hostile environment is creativity.
Clash of Clans is a free-to-play mobile strategy video game developed and published by Finnish game developer Supercell. The game was released for iOS platforms on August 2, 2012, and on Google Play for Android on October 7, 2013. The game is set in a fantasy-themed setting where the player is the chief of a village. You attack other players to get resources to build your village and to train warriors. You can also create or join a clan with other players to fight in clan wars together, donate or receive troops, and chat together.
