OSU Attack and Stabbing

On November 28th at 9:56AM, witnesses called in to report a man hitting people with a car and stabbing others in a crowd at Ohio State University. The man was 18-year-old Abdul Razak Ali Artan (pictured below), a student at the university, who hit numerous people with a car, got out of the vehicle, and began stabbing people with a butcher’s knife.

Police responded to the call, trying to arrest and stop the suspect. Within two hours of arrival, 28 year old OSU Officer Alan Horujko (pictured to the right) shot the suspect and ended the attack. Police are still not unsure about the motive, but ISIS took the blame said that Artan was one of their "soldiers", although this is highly unlikely as he had no previous contact with them.

The suspect was a somalian refugee who studys logistics while attending OSU after moving from Pakistan. He was a Muslim who was often afraid and thought he would be embarrassed if he was to “pray out in the open” through a quote he said through the local newspaper. People who knew him described him as a mild-mannered man who loved America, seeing how this country gave him the opportunity to go to college and obtain a college degree.

However, a day before the attack, Artan had supposedly posted “I can't take it anymore. America! Stop interfering with other countries, especially the Muslim Ummah,” (Ummah means Community) on Facebook. Officers said that Abdul showed no emotion throughout the attack, even when he was shot. Luckily, no one was killed and eleven were left with non-life threatening injuries while only

two were in critical condition.
