Turning Red Controversial

The Movie "Turning Red," released on February 22, 2022, has had some quiet attention from parents. Parents are not allowing their children to watch this show, and here's why.

The movie is based on Mei Lee, a 13-year-old girl torn between being her mother's obedient daughter and the chaos of her youth. As if that were not enough, she turns into a big red panda when she gets too excited. It sounds like a sweet movie, right? But here's the hidden message and why parents are so against this movie. It made whether Turning Red was too "specific" a central part of the public discussion. Other complaints followed. Some viewers and critics have complained about the film's supposedly inappropriate "maturity," Mei's willful nature, and the generalized problem of teen girls.

Meilin "Mei" Lee, whose puberty is hitting differently, as she turns into a big red panda. While we all dealt with mood swings, acne flare-ups, and general discomfort in our bodies at that age, Mei's coming of age is taking on a different form. She turns into a giant red panda whenever she feels a strong emotion. A family gene, her parents initially believe her transformation is brought on by the confusion of her first period. Due to this, parents don't understand why this movie is on Disney+ as it is not family-friendly or PG( coming of age).

What do you think about this? Should this movie be allowed on Disney+?
